You know how, in fairy tales, they simply end with “and they lived happily ever after”? It’s an entire conclusion in one sentence. It’s as if the writer is trying to say, “You know how absolutely wonderful this couple is for eachother, so what else could possibly ever happen other than that they live happily ever after? What else could happen to a couple so perfect for eachother?” I feel like saying that about Valerie and Kevin. Granted, no matter how wonderful of a couple you are, we still live on a place called Earth and we still have to make through an event called life. Everyone experiences changes – and everyone must make it through hard times. Fortunately, these changes and trials can shape who we are and help create that state of happiness we continue to seek for.
I do believe in happily ever after. Yet, I feel that it’s not a destination, but a state of existence. It’s something we experience as we go through good times and hard times with someone we hold absolutely dearest to our hearts. It’s something we create by always looking for the best in others and being content with the changes in our lives. It’s believing that these changes help improve who we are and make us stronger as a couple.
So, here’s to happily ever after. A totally acheivable, yet absolutely untangable place where two people can be in total, indefinite, wonderful love. Congratulations Valerie (or as my second child likes to call her – Ballerina) and Kevin!
