The newest addition to our family…

31 05 2009

The last couple months have been extremely busy and I have several sessions waiting to be posted.  But, there’s one post WAY more important than all of the others that has been bumped into first place on the waiting list.  We have had a new baby!

His name is Josiah Sidney Blackmore.  He is 2 1/2 days old (1 1/2 days old in the photos) and our first baby boy!  Josiah was born early Friday morning.  He was 21 inches long, 7lbs, 12.5oz., and had a head circumference of 14.5 inches.

Josiah’s sisters absolutely adore him and give him lots of attention.  Daddy beams like a little boy in a candy store – and mama is happy the labor is over and we can enjoy holding and kissing our little baby.  We couldn’t be a happier family.  And, of course, here’s several pictures.

Aliana’s Spring Portraits

3 05 2009

Every year I take the school portratits in my children’s schools.  I love being able to provide beautiful portraits for children who may not have the opportunity to have nice portraits otherwise.  I also enjoy taking pictures for children that I already know.  It makes my job of capturing natural smiles much easier.

I also enjoy being with my children – and they enjoy being able to pick out cool products from their school portraits.  I will post pictures of this years products later, but for now here’s a few of my favorite pictures of Aliana.

Aliana is now 7 years old.  She is in first grade.  She loves math and is enjoying reading.  Aliana says she wants to be a teacher when she grows up.  She is very helpful and loves taking care of her younger sisters when she gets a chance.  I’m sure she’ll be a wonderful big sister to her new baby brother when he arrives.

Children’s Portraits

2 05 2009

These two girls were so easy to photograph.  They were both so full of giggles and smiles.  We went to my new-found favorite spot hidden away in the middle of town.  It was windy and a little chilly, but these two didn’t complain once.  Thanks for making my job so easy!

This was one of my first spring photo sessions of the year, and I really enjoyed the greens and blues of the season.  I will miss the beautiful colors of the four seasons after moving to Arizona at the end of the summer.  I hope to squeeze in several amazing spring and summer sessions before that time and take advantage of the beautiful scenery of the NorthWest.

Senior Pics

15 03 2009

Senior year in high school is full of changes.  Deciding when and where to move.  Deciding whether or not to attend college.  Deciding how you will keep in contact with friends.  It’s a new adventure.  A time to take a look at all you’ve learned and leap forward into a place you’ve only dreamt about.

That’s why I love taking senior photographs so much.  I love to document this time of change – to stop time for just a moment and remember all that has been learned and all that lies ahead.

Here’s a sneak peek for one of this year’s outstanding seniors.  She’s outgoing, talented, and gorgeous.  I’m sure she’ll succeed in all her upcoming adventures.  Thank you for letting me be a part of this significant time in your life.

Birthday Girl

14 02 2009

Our second child just had a birthday (2 weeks ago).  She is now 5 years old.  -Soon to be in kindergarten.  We tried to do photos, but she wasn’t feeling well.  Here’s one picture for now…we will do more soon.   Kaki loves dancing, singing, writing, and bugs.  She can’t wait for Spring so that she can dig for worms.  She prays every day to beable to swim.  We love her and can’t wait for her next adventure.

Girly Girl

14 02 2009

Our littlest is 2 1/2 now.  She is absolutely adorable.  Her favorite things are colors, letters, and kisses.  She also loves pretending and changes her name daily.  She likes to be called “purple”, “pink”, “hungry bear”, “kitty”, “princess”, etc.  She is very sweet to everyone and is quite the little chatter box.  Here’s an update with photos for all those who have been waiting.

Winter Bliss

9 02 2009

Being an on-location photographer, I was excited to take these family pictures in the SNOW!  It was a blast.  I love trying adventurous locations and settings.  If you’ve ever considered taking winter photos, now is the time.  Enjoy the beautiful white and the colorful photos!

Photographing the Kendall Family

14 01 2009

Okay, so I had my doubts about this shoot.  The weather report looked awful, and the prospects for indoor shooting were bleak.  ….but, we worked some photo magic, the sun came out, and the day went wonderfully.

In fact, I was amazed at how easy this family was to photograph.  Even as a larger group, it was a breeze.  Everyone was happy and the lighting was perfect.  I had a hard time editing the final proofs, there were so many favorites.  Thank you for allowing me to capture these memories – it was a pleasure to have a glimps into your lives.

Fall Family Session

18 11 2008

This fall was very busy.  I was absolutely booked – which means I had the opportunity to photograph many amazing families.  One of my favorite times to photograph is in Autumn, when the colors are changing, and the lighting is so soft and warm just before sunset.  Here’s a sneak peak at one of the sessions we squeezed in just before winter hit and it became too cold to be outside with little ones for long.

Valerie & Kevin

3 11 2008

I love taking engagement pictures.  There is just something about that connection between two people in love.  Being able to document and preserve this amazing relationship is one of the best parts of being a photographer.

Valerie and Kevin were no exception.  We were able to schedule a session just before the weather turned cold and the beautiful fall leaves went away for the winter.  Congratulations you guys – I can’t wait for the wedding.
